Brunel has an exciting direct opportunity for a Plant Controller working for a leading supplier in mining and metals in Louisiana, MO.

Hybrid work is possible for this job.

As the Controller, you will be the primary Finance business partner for the Louisiana, MO (LOMO) site, supporting plant operations, supply, and logistics functions. This position provides financial support to the Regional Nitrogen Manufacturing management and engineering functions. You will be responsible for delivering insightful financial reporting, analysis, and guidance to facilitate strategy development and management decisions, optimize site production mix, identify and communicate risks and opportunities. Other duties will include

  • Provide transparency and drive alignment across operations and global manufacturing functions
  • Develop singular message for drivers impacting manufacturing results and participate in creating the site operational and capital strategies
  • Provide comprehensive variance analysis, including identification of gaps, trends and opportunities, and recommendations for possible course corrections necessary to achieve financial targets
  • Identify opportunities for business improvements leading to improved capital / inventory management, higher revenue, increased efficiencies, cost savings
  • Collaborative management of site capital budget including financial review and support of expenditure requests, forecast outlook, and project closure and capitalization
  • Drive increased forecast accuracy for plant operations, inventory, and capital expenditure
  • Oversee and manage the continued development of Budgeting, Financial Forecasting, Operating Plan and Analysis tools
  • Coordinate the preparation of the annual budget and rolling forecasts including evaluation of site overhead cost allocations
  • Project evaluation supporting growth and sustenance CAPEX, including validation that thresholds for Risk, IRR, NPV & Payback are achieved
  • Partner closely with plant and regional management teams to build collaborative working relationships and influence them to superior results through data driven insights

Requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or Finance, CPA or CMA certification preferred
  • 5-7 years with progressively increasing responsibility and demonstrated strong analytical ability
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Microsoft Suite with advanced proficiency in Excel and BW Analysis functionality, budget/forecasting modeling tools
  • Experience using an ERP (SAP is a plus)
  • Ability to create and audit complex formulas and relationships in spreadsheets and reporting tools.
  • Self-starter, able to work independently and achieve results through others
  • Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team player
