About this role: HSE - Environmental Lead

On behalf of our client, a leading upstream oil and gas company in the Asia Pacific Region, Brunel is seeking a skilled HSE - Environmental Lead to Provide HSE support and technical advice in the capacity of an environmental subject matter expert through the HSE Manager to all offshore facilities and activities, as well as functional line areas within the Perth based team.

This is a permanent full time role.

  • Promotes a HSEA culture
  • Leads preparation, assessment and acceptance/ approval of environmental approvals, as well as facilitates implementation of Environment Plans and other environmental approvals
  • Manage environmental assurance programs and processes
  • Lead continuous improvement of the HSE Management System including tracking of actions identified during compliance assurance processes.
  • Support Regulatory environmental reporting
  • Develop and revise HSE documentation for site operations
  • Drive implementation and monitoring of HSE Plan / KPIs for sites and activities
  • Liaise with the OIMs to ensure effective use of available HSE standards
  • Support OIMs to implement the HSE Management System on improvement initiatives
  • Promote HSE through sharing information on sites, involvement in site inspections, providing industry alerts and functional newsletters
  • Support Incident Management Team as part of the rostered support team

Requirements

Requirements

  • Degree in safety, engineering, environment or other relevant field of study or equivalent education and experience
  • Conversant with HSE legislation
  • Incident management training
  • Extensive experience in the oil and gas industry
  • Established networks in the industry sector
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with business leaders and stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Thinks strategically to support the achievement of business objectives in the context of regulatory and stakeholder requirements
  • Advocates for the company – able to build strong credibility and a positive reputation for the company with a range of parties
  • Raises awareness within the organisation of changing expectations and requirements in relation to regulatory bodies, legislation and stakeholder organisations
