On behalf of our client, a High Profile Global Service Provider to the Oil & Gas industry, Brunel are seeking qualified Valve Technicians & Machinists (Mechanical Fitters) for various shutdowns in 2022 for both Offshore & Onshore work in Western Australia. Interested candidates must reside in Australia.

Valve Tech

  • Flange management - both manual and hydraulic (tensioning and torquing) - Hydratight Training
  • Valve knowledge – installation and maintaining understanding of correct orientation and use
  • PSV (Pressure safety valves) – understanding of testing and overhauling of Pilot , Conventional and Bellows type
  • Experienced and compliant with process safety on-site
  • Previous experience working in a Shutdown environment
  • Understanding of Permit to Work systems and implementation
  • Familiar with P&ID (Piping and instrumentation Drawing) and Isometric Drawings

Machinist

  • Familiar with the use of in-situ flange facing machines (Mirage, Silk, Climax)
  • Flange management both manual and hydraulic (tensioning and torqueing)
  • Familiar with machining RTJ flanges Hub flanges (Grayloc , Destec) and Raised faces, compact flanges a benefit
  • Familiar with process safety onsite
  • Familiar with working in a shutdown environment
  • Understanding of permit to work systems and implementation
  • Familiar with site specific safety when using rotating equipment

  • Possess full Australian working rights
  • National Police Clearance
  • BOSIET (preferred)
  • OGUK medical (preferred)
  • Relevant Mechanical Fitter Trade Qualification – previous experience as a Valve Technician or Machinist
  • Previous experience working onshore and / or offshore in Oil & Gas

FIFO (fly-in fly-out) and local workers on WA mining and resource sites, people who work in remote operations, or run critical infrastructure, including remote train and port control, must receive their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine by 12:01am 1 December 2021, and be fully vaccinated by 1 January 2022. This is mandated by the State Gov’t of Western Australia.
